Olander School for Project Based Learning.
Thank you for visiting our website. In the fall of 2009, Olander Elementary became Olander School for Project Based Learning. This name change became official as Olander was in its fourth year of integrating Project Based Learning into our school curriculum. Also in the fall of 2009, Dell Netbook computers were purchased for all fourth and fifth grade students. Netbooks are also being used in second and third grade classrooms. Olander’s focus is establishing a strong foundation by emphasizing core academics and integrating technology. Please come visit Olander anytime!

Welcome!
Project-based learning, or PBL, is the use of classroom projects, intended to bring about deep learning, where students use technology and inquiry to engage with issues and questions that are relevant to their lives. These classroom projects are used to assess student's subject matter competence compared to traditional testing.
